BUFFALO STATE ATHLETICS
TROY, N.Y. — Freshman Claire Dyal (Red Hook/Red Hook) scored her first collegiate goal and Emma Boccolucci (West Seneca/West Seneca East) scored a second half goal, but it was not enough as Buffalo State fell short by a 3-2 count against Western Connecticut State in today’s final day of the RPI Engineers Cup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Allie Reeds (E. Amherst/Williamsville South) and Alexis Hanson (New York/West Broward) each chipped in assists.
- Buffalo State started early with a chipped-shot goal by Dyal just over nine minutes into the contest to give the Bengals a 1-0 lead.
- Western Connecticut State responded with a pair of goals to end the first half as it outshot Buffalo State 8-6 in the frame.
- The Colonials pushed their lead to 3-1 in the 51st minute.
- The Bengals cut the deficit in half with Boccolucci’s goal in the 63rd minute, but could not net the equalizer despite a 9-2 advantage in shots in the second half.
- Buffalo State held a 15-10 shots advantage for the game.
- Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) finished with two saves in goal for the Bengals.
