Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another early EP review from a brand new project called Placidusax. Their debut called Golden Breath drops tomorrow(as this is released) on July 10th, 2026.
Members of Glaciers and Whalefall came together to create this experimental deathcore project. When the Whalefall side of the guys reached I knew I had to check this out, they have always been so cool with bringing me their new music! The main inspiration for this new project is slam and I really dig this. I can hear the slam influence shining through in certain passages with ease and it’s heavy as can be.
Overall I would give Golden Breath an 8/10 on my personal scale! I look forward to more music from this project and will have this in rotation for sure!
