Hello Metalheads! This is John back with another early EP review! This time I bring to you the new EP Is It All A Dream from Whalefall which drops on May 22nd, 2026. I have reviewed these fine gentlemen quite a few times, they always give me their stuff early to start spreading awareness of new material and I am grateful!
This Thall project has two new instrumental tracks(III and IV) along with two tracks with vocals for our enjoyment. I really love how Whalefall give us these warmup instrumental tracks, they really give the listener a little musical context. III sounds like a continuation from Ocean/Land, which they already had a precursor called Whispers and Cracks with instrumentals. It’s so cool how they have this ongoing style discography so far! Echo is the other track with vocals and it is also a ripping track. Just pure heavy, brutal and progressive!
