
HAMBURG – Special Olympics New York’s three-day Polar Plunge celebration concludes with the Community Plunge on Saturday December 6. The event has more than 800 participants registered to plunge into the icy waters of Lake Erie at Woodlawn Beach State Park. Throughout the plunge series, it’s expected that Special Olympics New York will raise over $650,000.
This year’s top teams feature SantaCon, which has raised over $25,000 to date, National Fuel, raising over $15,000 to date and Daemen Wildcats raising over $10,000 to date.
In addition, a college scholarship sponsored by Bflo Hydration will be awarded to Ava Johnston, a student at Daemen, recognizing her outstanding commitment and fundraising efforts in support of Special Olympics New York athletes.
