LOCKPORT — Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced that a Niagara County jury returned a verdict this afternoon convicting Alexander Bryant, age 21, of all counts against him. Bryant was convicted of multiple counts of Predatory Sexual Assault and Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree, as well as Rape in the First Degree, Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

The charges against Bryant were the result of a short but intense investigation by the Niagara Falls Police Department into two separate incidents in the fall of 2023 where women who were walking alone were abducted at gunpoint, forced into alleyways behind businesses, and sexually assaulted.

“I can’t say enough about the work of the Niagara Falls police detectives in this case,” said Seaman. “This case was solved only because the police were actively working to develop information about who could have committed these crimes, and then following up on even the smallest lead. It was a connection made by one of the detectives that led to Bryant as a suspect, and eventually to matching his DNA to both of the sexual assaults. But for the work of those detectives, there is no telling how long this could have gone on or how many victims there might have been. This verdict gives the judge latitude to remove an extremely dangerous sexual predator from the community for good, and deliver some measure of justice to the victims of these horrendous crimes.”

The defendant faces up to 90 years to life in prison when he returns to court on October 30th to be sentenced by County Court Judge John J. Ottaviano. District Attorney Seaman prosecuted the case personally along with Special Victims Bureau Chief Heather Nicholson and Assistant District Attorney Liesel Marcantonio.
