Hello Metalheads! This is John back with an early EP review! Embodiment were nice enough to send over their new one called Cryptomorph which drops on July 24, 2026!
Embodiment have had some super strong roots in technical death metal with a couple of albums out already. In this latest installment they really lean into more melodic aspects, including some really strong clean vocals in choruses. One example the single Beneath the Skin which I’ve already covered and love. https://technicalmusicreview.com/2026/06/20/beneath-the-skin-single-by-embodiment/But also in the opening track of the EP Resonance Cascade there is also a clean chorus.
Overall I really enjoyed Cryptomorph, it’s a quick four song EP. I’d give this a 8.5/10 on my personal EP rankings and will definitely be in my rotation for a bit! Thanks again to Embodiment for sending this over early! As always go check this out, links to socials and streaming are below!
