LOCKPORT — Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced that a drugged driver, who injured a pedestrian, was sentenced to state prison.
Amber N. Clark, age 43 of North Tonawanda, was sentenced on August 6, 2025, to spend the next 1 to 3 years in state prison. Clark previously plead guilty in County Court to the crimes of Vehicular Assault in the Second Degree and Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Crash Resulting in Serious Physical Injury. Clark admitted to driving while under the influence of methamphetamine on September 20, 2024, striking an e-bicyclist at the intersection of Niagara Falls Blvd and 47th Street in the City of Niagara Falls, and thereby causing serious physical injury to the victim before fleeing the scene.
The case was investigated by the Niagara Falls Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office and was prosecuted by Vehicular Crimes Bureau Chief Christine Savoia. Sentence was imposed by Supreme Court Justice Mario A. Giacobbe.
In a separate case, a North Tonawanda man pleaded guilty to assault for a hit-and-run crash.
Seaman stated: “As these two cases demonstrate, driving a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and reckless operation of any kind, can lead to disastrous consequences for innocent people. When that happens, there must be a severe consequence for the callous individual who causes these injuries.”
