Hubert G. Carrier, 61, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on September 15, 2025 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Ohsweken, Six Nations, Ontario, Hubert was the son of the late Hubert and Nora (Williams) Carrier.
A proud member of the Onondaga Nation, Hubert moved to the Niagara Falls area with his family as a child. As a youth, he enjoyed playing hockey and lacrosse. He graduated from Niagara Falls High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. On May 9, 1992, Hubert married Dawn R. (Klein) Carrier at the Niagara Falls Wintergarden. They shared 33 years of marriage filled with love, creativity, and devotion to family.
Hubert was employed as a Chemical Operator for Olin Chemical in Niagara Falls, NY, and was a dedicated member of the United Steel Workers Union. While he worked hard to support his family, his true passion was art—a love he nurtured since childhood. He was one of the first tenants of the Niagara Falls Cultural Center, where he spent countless hours creating in his studio. He also enjoyed gardening, tinkering, nature, fishing, and hiking along the Niagara Gorge and Niagara River, as well as going to the Casino. Hubert found joy in simple pleasures and cherished every moment spent with his family, especially his granddaughters who lovingly called him “Papa.”
In addition to his wife, Dawn, Hubert is survived by his sons, Bradley (Drashti Dixit-Carrier) Carrier and Robert (Gabrielle) Carrier; his beloved granddaughters, Ava, Luna, and Nessa Carrier; his siblings, William (Kathy) Carrier and Kelly Williams; as well as several aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, Debbie (Gary) Hachee, Lindsay Carrier, Kim Carrier, and Brian Carrier.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Niagara Falls Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
