Angelo Morreale, 78, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, at Niagara Hospice House after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Rose (Giancola) Morreale.  He was the loving husband of Louisa (Infantino) Morreale, who he married October 2, 1982 and she was the center of his world.

Angelo graduated from Bishop Duffy High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College in Indiana. He received his Master’s degree in Education from Niagara University and began his career as a Physical Education teacher with the Niagara Falls School District for a short period. He also proudly served in the Army National Guard.

Angelo’s passion for connecting with people inspired him to open Old Angelo’s, which evolved into two locations in Niagara Falls. His customers became life long friends, often earning special nicknames from Angelo or earning a spot in the “farkle club”. During this time, he sponsored many local recreation teams. After 20 successful years in the restaurant business, he retired but remained active by spending 10 years working at The Como Restaurant. He will always be known as the “Legend of the Hospitality Industry.”

Angelo embraced an active lifestyle, and was a loyal member of the YMCA in Niagara Falls for many years, and more recently, the Niagara University gym, a place that brought him much joy and more friendships. His cherished daily routines included walking his dogs, keeping physically fit with a daily work out, calling his friends all over the country, traveling to Florida with his family and friends, and most importantly, spending time with his grandchildren. Angelo always said, his grandchildren made him a millionaire.

A devoted family man and community member, Angelo dedicated countless hours volunteering his time coaching his kids sports teams in the Lewiston-Porter School District. Once his own children were grown, Angelo remained a strong supporter and fan of Lew-Port sports, attending games and volunteering to help. As an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills, Angelo was no stranger to the triumphs and heartbreaks of loyal fandom both organizations brought.

Above all, Angelo will be remembered for his selflessness, kindness, sense of humor, famous phrases like “it don’t get no better than this,” and unwavering commitment to helping others. He was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need or extend an invite for a holiday meal to anyone who needed a place to go.

In addition to his wife, Louisa, Angelo is survived by his children, Joshua (Jennifer) Morreale, Courtney (Scott) Kelly, Gina Morreale, Anthony (Lauren) Morreale, and Marc Morreale; his cherished grandchildren, Kennedie, Maguire, Ireland, London, Kade, Rennen, Sofia and Santino; two brothers, Gene (Mary) Morreale and Rob (Donna) Morreale, sister-in-law Elaine Morreale, and was predeceased by his brother, Larry Morreale. Angelo is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

The Morreale family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Niagara Hospice House for their compassionate care during Angelo’s final days.
