NEW CASTLE, DEL. – After one day and five matches, including three against a pair of top-10 opponents, the Purple Eagles sit in 23rd place at the Northeast Classic.
 
Kaelyn Weber led Niagara with a 21.4 average on the day, followed by Emily Brock and Brianna Thurstonwith an average of 18.7 and 18.8, respectively.
 
Baker Match 1: Niagara 939, Jacksonville State 1006
 
The day began with a match against No. 1 Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks would defeat Niagara by 67-pins.
 
 Baker Match 2: Niagara 886, Nebraska 1080
 
The Purple and White took on its second-straight top-10 opponent to start the day and the Huskers would jump out to the early lead and never look back, earning the 194-pin win over the Purple and White.
 
Baker Match 3: Niagara 956, Oklahoma Christian 1060
 
Niagara would drop its third-straight match to start the day, this one to Oklahoma Christian by 104-pins.
 
Baker Match 4: Niagara 834, UAB 914
 
UAB would jump out to an early lead en route to defeating the Purple Eagles by 120-pins.
 
Baker Match 5: Niagara 933, SFA 998
 
Niagara would hold a lead after three games before Stephen F. Austin, the No. 9 team in the country, stormed back to earn the 65-pin victory over NU.
