ALDEN — Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia reported new charges levied against a 39-year-old inmate at the Erie County Correctional Facility.
According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, corrections officers at the facility made a discovery during a routine search of the Gulf Housing area. Inside the prosthetic leg of Gregorio Chevere, officers found a folded up piece of paper containing a green leafy substance believed to be K2 spice.
The narcotics and intelligence unit responded to the facility and conducted a brief investigation before charging Chevere with possession of a dangerous contraband in prison — a class D felony.
Chevere remains in custody at the correction facility pending his arraignment.
