Governor Kathy Hochul today announced 13 state landmarks will be illuminated dark blue on the evening of Tuesday, January 9 in honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
“Our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day in service to their fellow New Yorkers – we thank them for their service today and every day,” Governor Hochul said. “New York is a safer place because of their dedication. Today we recognize their sacrifices and show our appreciation for their work.”
Landmarks to be lit include:

- Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge
- Kosciuszko Bridge
- The H. Carl McCall SUNY Building
- State Education Building
- Alfred E. Smith State Office Building
- Empire State Plaza
- State Fairgrounds – Main Gate & Expo Center
- Niagara Falls
- Lake Placid Olympic Center
- Fairport Lift Bridge over the Erie Canal
- Moynihan Train Hall
- Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park
