BROCKPORT, NY – The Buffalo State women’s basketball team dropped their SUNYAC matchup with the Brockport Golden Eagles today with a final score of 76-65 at the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gym.

  • Maddy Stearns (Clarence, NY/Clarence) tallied a double-double performance with 20 points and 11 rebounds.
  • Emma Cohen (Utica, NY/TR Proctor) and Chloe Hanson (Skaneateles, NY/Moravia) each had double-digit scoring performances as well for Buffalo State.
  • The Bengals narrowly out-rebounded the Golden Eagles 50-49 and were also 10-14 as a team from the free throw line.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • After scoring the first five points of the matchup, Brockport was able to carry a six point lead after the first quarter.
  • In the second, Buffalo State went on an impressive 16-4 run to cut the Golden Eagle lead down to just one.
  • Brockport netted five of the last seven points of the quarter to lead by six at halftime.
  • The Golden Eagles kept pushing in the second half watching their grow to a game-high 17 points before holding on for the win in the final minutes.

FOR THE FOES

  • Zoe Zutes led the Golden Eagles with 23 points.
  • Zairea Hannah had a team-leading 18 rebounds in the win.
