BROCKPORT, NY – The Buffalo State men’s basketball team fell short to the Brockport Golden Eagles in an overtime thriller tonight with a final score of 79-75 at the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gym.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Maley McCurty (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) had a career day tallying a double-double performance scoring 24 points with 12 rebounds.
- Nigel Burch (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) registered his second consecutive double-double netting 18 points with ten rebounds.
- McCurty also had four blocks and was 7-10 from the free throw line.
- Corcel Smallhorne (Queens Village, NY/The Martin Luther School) also scored 11 points with four assists for the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State opened the action tonight with a quick 8-2 start.
- The Bengals later went on a quick 7-0 run, and kept the offensive pressure on as they lead 39-35 heading into halftime.
- The second half was filled action as Brockport was able to rally to tie things up 47-47.
- After the Golden Eagles took a four point lead, the Bengals responded with baskets from McCurty, Smallhorne and a three pointer from Bryce Williams (Jamaica, NY/Campus Magnet).
- Both sides later went back-and-forth again before Brockport took their lead to five.
- McCurty went on to score six straight points to put the Bengals back in front.
- Brockport was able to tie things up again, 69-69, with a driving layup in the final seconds of regulation.
- As the Golden Eagles took the lead late in overtime, they were able to hang on to keep the Bengals from clawing back any further.
FOR THE FOES
- Caquan Wester had a double-double to lead Brockport with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
- Tony Arnold chipped in 13 points and five assists.
