Geraldine Sdao, 91, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Carmela (Di Leo) Filicetti.  

Geri was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.  On October 6, 1956, she married F. Robert Sdao at Mount Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, NY.  Mr. Sdao predeceased her November 14, 2013.  Geri was employed in multiple positions with M&T Bank and was the longtime Branch Manager at the Portage Road Branch, retiring in 1996 after 46 years in banking. She was a member of the St. Francis Guild at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital and served on the Foundation Board at Niagara County Community College.    

Geri loved to bake, and was famous for her coconut crème pies and biscotti.  Geri and her husband loved to travel extensively worldwide, especially going on cruises together. She loved taking immaculate care of her home. Geri had a fantastic sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes and loved going to the casino.  Above all, Geri will be remembered for her hard-working nature and her love of her family, especially the time that they shared together during holiday and family celebrations.

Geri is survived by her sister, Dorothy (late William) Landis; her niece, Sharon (late Steve) Kolarich; her great-nephew, Steven (Allison) Kolarich; her great-great nephew, Jack Kolarich, as well as many nieces, nephews in the Sdao family.  In addition to her husband of 56 years, she was sadly predeceased by her son, Robert Michael Sdao, her brother, Louis (late Norma) Filicetti, as well as many brothers and sisters in law in the Sdao family.

Geraldine’s Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 30 at 12 Noon at Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27th and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Private funeral services and entombment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY were held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Robert Michael Sdao Scholarship Fund at Niagara County Community College.  Arrangements by M.J.
