Judith M. Hunt, 78, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at O.L.P Nursing Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Mary (Martin) Hunt.
Judy graduated from Niagara Falls High School and obtained her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree from Buffalo State College. She worked as a Speech Therapist for many years with the Niagara-Wheatfield School District until her retirement.
Judy was an avid reader in her earlier years. She enjoyed horseback riding, entertaining her friends and family, as well as traveling with her teacher friends. She also loved tending to her garden. Above all, she centered her life around being a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Brenda Cowe and Julie (late Mickey) Boucher; two grandchildren, Justin (Jennifer) Boucher and Janine (fiancé Christian) Boucher; her great-granddaughter, Jennessa Boucher; two brothers, Thomas (late Donna) Hunt and Harry ‘Mugs’ (Carol) Hunt; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving companion, James H. Fadel.
Visitation will be Monday, December 11 from 4 – 6 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, will be held privately. Memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org/wny.
