Thomas E. George, 82, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully December 2, 2023. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Joseph K. and Victoria (Haick) George; and the love of his life, late Paulette E. (Smith) George, whom he married November 12, 1960.

Tom attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1958, and was a member of the Alpha Theta Kappa. He also received his Associate’s degree from Erie County Community College.

In 1963, he enlisted in the United States Army before being honorably discharged to the Army National Guard, serving 6 years.

Tom owned and operated Cinderella Coffee Shop, Greenwald’s Restaurant, The Green’s Restaurant, Holland House Restaurant and the Villa Coffee House until retiring in 2012. He also formerly worked for James Maroon Home Improvements and Arthur Girasole Realty, managed West Roofing Company, and served as the District Manager for Prudential Insurance Company.

Tom was a member of the Niagara Frontier Country Club from 1970 – 2008 and the Lewiston Kiwanis Club. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his loving family. He especially loved seeing his grandchildren and was extremely proud of all of their accomplishments. He also loved watching their sports events or just when they all dropped in at the Villa. His family meant everything to him.

His next biggest joy was his family at the Villa Coffee House. His customers were very special to him. He always said that without them, and their smiling faces, his day would not be the same. His faithful employees who were with him for so many years and those for not so many years, always held a special place in his heart. Then came golf. He always said that it was, “breakfast, lunch and golf.” That was his motto. He loved the game and his special friends that he played with.

Thomas is survived by his children, Kelly Lynn (Michael) Fitzgerald, Scott T. (Amy) George; his grandchildren, Sullivan M. (Grace) Fitzgerald; Ryleigh S. (Matthew) Limina; Alexandra Brown, Megan DiBerardino; great-granddaughter, Lily Ryleigh Limina; his brothers, Michael (Karen) George and Joseph K. (Patricia) George; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Samuel (late Margaret) George and his sister-in-law, Theresa (Ronald) (late Jerla) Smith.

Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org. Arrangements by M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
