On October 26, 2023, SP Machias Troopers arrested Matthew J. Murcin, 50, of Yorkshire, NY Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree.
Troopers executing a search warrant on a residence on West Yorkshire Road in the town of Yorkshire discovered a “ghost gun” and an unauthorized ammunition magazine and determined Murcin to be the owner.
Murcin was arrested and arraigned in Ellicottville Town Court, where he was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bond, or $40,000 secured bond. He is due to appear in Yorkshire Town Court at a later date.
