Canisius freshmen Mikey Takacs and Alex Schickling each shot a 75 on Sunday to lead the Golden Griffin golf team on the first day of the Bucknell Invitational at Bucknel Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa.

Both Takacs and Schickling are tied for 43rd in the field after Sunday’s first round score of 75. Fellow freshman Jake Dantonio is tied for 56th after he carded a six-over score of 76.

As a team, Canisius shot 305, which ties the Blue and Gold for 16th in the field with St. Francis (Pa.). Colgate and Long Island are atop the team leader board after the two schools posted team scores of 282 in the opening round. Long Island’s Lewis Wright is the first round leader after he posted a four-under score of 66.

The second round of the Bucknell Fall Invitational will tee off Monday morning between 9-10:45 a.m.
