Three Canisius players scored 20-or more points, led by junior Tre Dinkins, who poured in a game-high 25 points, as the Golden Griffins rolled past University of Quebec 88-64 Tuesday night in Montreal. With the 24-point victory, the Griffs improved to 3-0 on their summer Canadian foreign tour.

Dinkins finished the night by shooting 9-for-15 from the field, 5-for-9 from 3-point land and 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed eight rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals. Sophomore guard Tahj Staveskie posted 23 points after he went 8-for-12 from the floor, 3-for-5 from behind the 3-point line and 4-for-4 from the charity stripe in 38 minutes, while fellow junior Frank Mitchell recorded a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. As a team, the Blue and Gold shot 58.9 percent from the field and 45 percent from 3-point land in the win, while also going a perfect 13-for-13 from the free-throw line.

The Griffs jumped out early on the Citadins, taking a 25-11 lead after one quarter of play and never looked back. In that opening frame, Dinkins and Staveskie combined to score 18 of the team’s points, and the two players shot a combined 8-for-11 from the floor and 2-for-3 from 3-point range.

Canisius will close out its foreign tour on Wednesday with a game at Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, Quebec. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
