Rose Rizzotto, age 103, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Schoellkopf Health Care Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the first-born child of the late Margaret and Peter Ciadella.
Rose moved to Lewiston, NY with her family at the age of 4. Shortly after, they moved to Niagara Falls, where she attended local schools and graduated from high school. On May 15, 1941, she married her beloved husband, Anthony Rizzotto at the former Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Rizzotto predeceased her on October 20, 1996.
Rose was an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed sewing, reading, and especially loved spending time with her family.
Rose is survived by her four children, Annette (Peter) Valenti, Rosemary (Henry) Barkley, Joseph (Nancy) Rizzotto and Margaret (late Philip) Martino; her grandchildren, Daniel (Kim), Gregory, Dana (Glen), Lorraine and Jason (Samantha); five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; her sister, Ina DelBosco, as well as many nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by two grandchildren and eight siblings.
As per Rose’s wishes, private services with internment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
