Mary M. Sicoli, 93, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on May 6, 2023 at her Lewiston home. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Rose (Falcone) Massaro.
Mary was a 1948 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On September 27, 1952, she married Benjamin M. Sicoli at St. Joseph RC Church. Mr. Sicoli predeceased her on September 18, 2010. Mary and Ben deeply loved each other throughout their 58 wonderful years of marriage. Mary was employed with her husband as the bookkeeper for Sicoli Masonry Construction Company from 1955 until 1963.
A loving, faith filled person, she was a long-time parishioner of St Peter’s RC Church. She was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Niagara Frontier Country Club and Niagara Falls Country Club, where she chaired various social committees. She also volunteered with the Mt. St. Mary’s St. Francis Guild and the Ladies Auxiliary at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital. Mary enjoyed playing Bridge and spending time with her lifelong group of friends, affectionately known as “The Charmers”. She loved her 3 dogs, Pierre, Reggie and Spike, dearly. Mary also enjoyed spending winters at her Boca Raton, Florida residence. An avid cook and baker, she showed her love through cooking and baking, especially during the holidays. Above all, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her the most joy and meaning in her life. She was cherished in life and will be dearly missed.
Mary is survived by her three sons, David M. (Kathy) Sicoli, Benjamin R. (Sheri) Sicoli and Dr. Robert A. (Sharyl) Sicoli; her grandchildren, Catherine (Luke) Darling, David (Matthew Ferguson) Sicoli, Benjamin R. (Amanda) Sicoli, Jr., Christopher (Heather) Sicoli, Alyssa Kaczmarek, Zachary Sicoli, Kathleen Flint, Mary Sicoli and Joseph Sicoli; 8 great grandchildren, Elliott, Rachel, Ari, Elliana, Carmen, Miesha, Melina and Lauren; her brother, Angelo (Louise) Massaro, Esq. as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband of 58 years, she was predeceased by her siblings, Anne (late Samuel) Russo, Frank (late Dolores) Massaro, Angeline (late D. Arthur) Marinucci, Dominic (Joy) Massaro, and Richard (late Joyce) Massaro.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to Mary’s six caregivers – Tammy, Rose, Anna, Marilyn, Ashley and Brandy – for the kind, attentive, loving care they provided her during the latter years of her life.
