KENMORE — The Kenmore Village Improvement Society (KVIS) invites residents living anywhere who enjoy plants and gardening to become a Green Thumb Helper. Each year for over a decade, the KVIS has designed, planted, and maintained the point gardens at the Kenmore village green at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Delaware Road and at the Kenmore Library.

Beautifying the community in this way is done by KVIS volunteers called Green Thumb Helpers. Some of the people who volunteer have gardening experience and others are just learning. People of all levels are encouraged to help make these special gardens look lush and wonderful throughout the growing season. Help is needed planting, dead-heading, watering, and weeding. Two people are needed to help maintain each garden daily. Volunteers can sign up to do just one day every week or even every other week during the growing season. Interested volunteers can sign up to help at the KVIS website www.villageofkenmore.com. Green Thumb Helpers begin tending the gardens in mid to late April.

The KVIS is a group of volunteers celebrating 15 years of serving the community. We strive to help make our neck of the woods as good as possible in as many ways as needed. Membership to the KVIS is free and open to all people living anywhere who care about Kenmore.
