Marjorie Jean Zysik, 91, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2023 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY with family members by her side. Born in Oneonta, NY, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Naomi McNeilly.
Jean was a graduate of Hartwick College where she met the love of her life, Dr. Edmund T. Zysik. They were married in 1953 and raised their five children in Massena, NY.
Jean and her husband centered their life around their family. They enjoyed spending their summers in Long Lake, NY, and watching their four boys playing hockey in the winter season. Jean enjoyed reading, cooking and playing card games. They were also longtime members of the local Bridge Club. Following Dr. Zysik’s retirement, they moved to Green Valley, AZ. Above all she loved her family who will miss her dearly.
Jean was predeceased by her husband in 2018. She is survived by her children, Karen (Tom) Freidhof Lewiston, NY, Edmund (Kathy) Zysik, Jr. of Massena, NY, David (Debbie) Zysik of Massena, NY, Jeffrey Zysik of Green Valley, AZ and Michael (Julie) Zysik of Perrysburg, OH; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, her brother, Clyde McNeilly, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8 from 12 – 1 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where services will be held at 1:00 PM.
