
ITHACA — The Niagara women’s tennis team traveled to Cornell for its first road match of the spring season. The Big Red defeated the Purple Eagles 7-0.
Match Recap
Doubles
- The duo of Erika Gonzalez and Mercedes Velasco were in the third doubles position and took the lone win of the day for the Purple Eagles. Niagara was up 5-2 in the match before the match ended due to Cornell securing the doubles point.
- The team of Madigan Humiston and Enrica Favaron won one set of their match in second doubles.
Singles
- Elena Mayet was slotted in the second singles and won the opening set of her match but Cornell took the next two sets to win the point.
- Favaron was the other Purple Eagle to win a set in singles on Sunday. She won the opening set 7-5 before falling 6-3 and 10-5 in the second and third set.
