Heather Ann Williams, 59, of Buffalo, passed away on February 15, 2023 at Buffalo General Hospital.  Born on April 18, 1963 in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Jean (Brandt) Gould.

Heather earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY.  On July 2, 1988, she married Jon M. Williams at Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Niagara Falls, NY.

To know Heather was to know her infectious laugh, her incredible zest for life, her compassion, her optimism, and her love for her family, friends, and community. She was deeply patriotic and devoted to her Catholic faith. Her chocolate chip cookies were legendary. She wore many hats throughout her life: she was a cheerleader, a magazine editor, and a stay-at-home mom. She became the Executive Director of The OSC Charitable Foundation, which she co-founded with her husband Jon, in 2014.

Through the Foundation, she participated in numerous boards, including the Bison Children’s Scholarship Fund, Buffalo AKG, St John Fisher College, and Oishei Children’s Hospital, where she was board President. She was involved with many other charitable organizations and causes within the Western New York area, including Back to Basics Ministries. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

In addition to her loving husband of 34 years, she is survived by her beloved children, Nora J. (James) Platt, PhD., Joseph Nick Williams II, Tess M. Williams, and Ian D. (Anna) Williams; her sisters, Sandy (Jim) Thompson and Kay Gould, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, colleagues and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, George (Kathy) Gould.

Heather’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 21 at 10 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 651 Washington Street, Buffalo NY 14203.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo Foundation (www.ochbuffalo.org/foundation/donate) or to Back to Basics Ministries (www.backtobasicsministeries.org).  Arrangements by M.J.
