Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz is hoping for four more years.

In an email and accompanying YouTube video this morning, the three-term executive announced a bid for re-election.

“As the video shows, I could not be prouder of our history and all of our accomplishments,” Poloncarz said in the email. “Because of the hard work of many, our population is growing, we are attracting more businesses and well-paying jobs to WNY, made historic investments to improve our roads and bridges, and increased funding for libraries, parks and public safety.”

“While doing all of this, we have reduced the property tax rate to its lowest ever and secured a new home for the Buffalo Bills with a state of the art stadium headed our way,” the email continued. “But I am not stopping there. I have already launched my “prosperity plan” to ensure everyone benefits from our community’s renaissance.”

Poloncarz already has competition. Former Grand Island Supervisor Nate McMurray announced earlier this month that he would seek the position following two unsuccessful bids for Congress.
