WINTHROP, Mass.—The Hockey Commissioners Association announced the watch list for the Richter Award for the 2022-23 season. Niagara senior goalie Chad Veltri is one of six goalies from Atlantic Hockey has been named to the list.

This season Veltri has a 2.63 goals against average along with a .915 save percentage in 17 games this season along with two shutouts. He has an Atlantic Hockey high six career shutouts. In his career he has a 2.58 goals against average which is fourth among active goalies.

He has 33 career wins and is the active leader among Atlantic Hockey goalies. He also notched his 2,000th save against Miami (OH) and is second among AHA goalies in career saves with 2,069 in his four year career.

This is the first time a  Purple Eagle had been name to the watch list since Mike Corson was in 2021.

The Purple Eagles return to action this weekend as they host Bentley at Dwyer Arena on Friday at 5 PM and Saturday at 5:35 PM.
