The Niagara County Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services today announced a logo design contest for the Niagara County Suicide Prevention Coalition (NCSPC), open to anyone who submits a design through the Department’s NCDMH@niagaracounty.com email address by July 22, 2022. The winning logo will become the coalition’s new logo that will be used widely on all coalition promotional materials, including, but not limited to, use on the website and social media pages. 

All designs must be original work, be reflective of the Coalition’s Mission, be submitted in a high resolution image format as outlined on the entry form, and include the following:  

•             The colors teal and purple, which represent suicide prevention 

•             The name of the Coalition – Niagara County Suicide Prevention Coalition 

•             The tag line “There is Help. There is Hope.” 

•             A completed Entry Form 

The entries will be judged on originality, quality, concept and relevance to the NCSPC. The winning logo contestant will receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card. The winner will be announced by September 1, 2022 to kick off National Suicide Awareness Month.   

“Suicide Prevention is a whole community effort,” said Laura Kelemen, Director of the Niagara County Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services, “Community involvement in the development of a new Niagara County Suicide Prevention Coalition logo, helps promote awareness that there is help and hope and truly demonstrates that there are various ways that our residents can contribute to our the Coalition’s initiatives.” 

The mission of the Niagara County Suicide Prevention Coalition is to develop and implement suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention strategies through public education, access to services, as well as to promote awareness, and provide support to our residents.
