On July 12, 2022 at 7:26 A.M., Troopers out of SP Niagara responded to a collision on Niagara Falls Boulevard (ST-62) and Witmer Road in the town of Wheatfield. When Troopers arrived at the scene, multiple civilians and personnel from the Niagara Fall Air Base were rendering medical aid to one of the operators.
Early investigation reveals that a 2004 Ford Ranger and a 2006 Honda were involved in a collision in the intersection of Witmer Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard. Both operators were transported to Erie County Medical Center. The operator of the Ford was taken by Mercy Flight with serious injuries.
NYSP Collision Reconstruction Unit, Town of Niagara Police Department and the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene.
This is still an active investigation.
