Virginia ‘Vie’ M. Marcucci, 101, of Elderwood at Wheatfield passed away on December 6, 2021. Born on October 10, 1920 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (D’Ambrosio) Rossi. On June 21, 1940 Virginia married Arthur J. Marcucci. He predeceased her on August 9, 2002.
Vie was a hard worker and held a variety of positions during her life. Her first job as a teenager was helping to start her parent’s business, Rossi Grocery Store. During World War II she worked at Chisolm Ryder, then the International Paper Company and Tops Markets. Vie especially enjoyed working at the Boys Club with her husband and cleaning houses for a couple special clients. Some of her favorite pastimes included tending to her garden, caring for her home and watching her favorite teams play. Most of all she enjoyed cooking, feeding and spending time with her family.
Vie is survived by her granddaughter, Geri Ann (Michael) Freyer of Charlotte, NC; her two great-granddaughters, Ann Estelle and Mary Margaret Freyer, daughter-in-law, Nancy Marcucci and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Arthur, her brothers Carmen (Mubby) (late Gina) DiPaolo, John (late Ruth) DiPaolo, Anthony (Miggs) (late Ang) Rossi, sisters, Nicolena (late Marcellino) Fiorucci, Mary (late Swede) Fiorotto, Rose (late John) Dorso and Theresa (Babe) (late Joe) Gabrielli.
There will be no prior visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
