The Niagara Purple Eagles wrap up their non-conference road schedule against the Army West Point Black Knights on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Scene Setter
• The Purple Eagles had their three-game win streak, which was the longest current streak in the MAAC, snapped in a defeat at Cleveland State on December 19.
• Niagara and Army met last November for the first time since the 1989-90 season. The Purple Eagles, who trailed by seven points at halftime, went on an 11-0 run in a five-minute span in the second half to take their first lead and led for the final six minutes.
• In last season’s meeting versus the Black Knights, Marvin Prochet set a career-high with 15 rebounds and scored 12 points on his way to his second double-double of the season.
• Niagara boasts victories against opponents from the ACC (Pitt), Atlantic-10 (St. Bonaventure) and Mountain West Conference (Wyoming).
• NU has played against two of the three United States Service Academies that participate in NCAA Division I athletics in program history – Army (8-7) and Air Force (0-2).

• Three Purple Eagles are averaging double figures scoring – Marvin Prochet (18.7 ppg), James Towns (13.0 ppg), and Dominic Robb (12.3 ppg).
• Marvin Prochet became the 47th member of Niagara’s 1,000-Point Club on December 16.
• Dominic Robb moved into second place on the career blocks list after a four-block performance at Pitt. Robb is now 30 blocks away from tying Joe Arlauckas (’87) who finished his career with 220 blocks, for first place.
• For the second straight week, a Purple Eagle was named MAAC Player of the Week. Marvin Prochet was selected as MAAC Player of the Week on December 17, one week after James Towns earned his first career MAAC Player of the Week award.
• Dominic Robb leads the MAAC and is fourth in the nation in blocks per game (3.4) and is eighth in total blocks (34).
• Marvin Prochet collected his MAAC-leading sixth double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds at Cleveland State on December 19. Prochet, who is 10th in the nation in double-doubles, has six double-doubles in seven games.
• Dominic Robb established a new career-high in blocks with eight, including seven in the first half, which are tied for the second most blocks in a game in program history. The eight blocks are also tied for fifth most in the nation this season. Robb has three of the top-8 most blocks in a game in Niagara history.
• In the win at Pitt, the Purple Eagles had their highest rebound margin (+7) of the season.
• The Purple Eagles lead the MAAC and are 23rd in the nation in free throw percentage.
• The Purple Eagles are the only team in the MAAC to have three players record a double-double (Marvin Prochet, Dominic Robb, Greg Kuakumensah) this season.
• Niagara is 10-1 in games decided by less than four points since the 2017-18 season.
On The Court
Army West Point Black Knights (5-7, 0-0 Patriot League)
• Army West Point was picked sixth in the 2018-19 Patriot League Preseason Poll.
• The Black Knights are 3-2 in their last five games, but are coming off a defeat to Fairleigh Dickinson on December 12.
• Three Black Knights are averaging double figures – Matt Wilson (15.3 ppg), Jordan Fox (11.4 ppg), and Jordan Fox (10.3 ppg).
• Tommy Funk ranks eighth in the nation in total assists and 17th in assists per game.
• The Cadets are first in the Patriot League in 3-pointers made, total assists, total steals, and 3-point field goal attempts.
• Army West Point is 2-0 against MAAC opponents (Marist & Fairfield) this season.

• Niagara and Army renewed their series last season after not playing since the 1989-90 campaign, which was Niagara’s first season in the MAAC and Army’s last.
