UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

MILWAUKEE, WI University at Buffalo senior guard CJ Massinburg has been named one of just 20 players nationally to the Oscar Robinson Midseason Watch List, which is awarded to the nation’s top player at the end of the season.  The list was put together by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
Massinburg is averaging 17.9 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per contest for the 11-0 and #14 Buffalo Bulls this season.  Most recently, Massinburg moved into fifth place on UB’s all-time scoring list following his 25-point night at Syracuse on Tuesday.  CJ is one of just three players in school history with over 1,500 career points and 600 career rebounds.
The Dallas, TX native opened the season with 43 points in UB’s win at West Virginia, the highest scoring output in a road game ever by a Buffalo player.  He also notched his first career triple-double in the win over Le Moyne, finishing with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Of the 20 names on the list, Massinburg is one of just six seniors on there and the only player from the Mid-American Conference.
Massinburg and the Bulls will look to head into the Christmas break tonight on a high note as Buffalo faces #20 Marquette at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, WI.  The game tips at 8:30 pm ET on Fox Sports 1.  Marquette’s leading scorer Markus Howard is also on the list.
