A 39-year-old Machias man was charged with DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd on November 3, 2018 following a routine traffic stop.
According to New York State Troopers, officers stopped James J. Rappa on McKinstry Rd. in the Town of Machias for speeding and expired inspection. Rappa was placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests and was transported to SP Machias for processing. Rappa recorded a .17% BAC.
Rappa was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Machias court for November 2018.
