GENESEO, N.Y. — Zach Remers (Clarence, NY/Canisius) netted two goals and added an assist as Buffalo State skated to a 4-4 tie at nationally No. 3-ranked Geneseo tonight in a SUNYAC contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Buffalo State opened the scoring just over seven minutes into the game Hugo Petit‘s (Chelsea, QC/CIH Academy) second goal of the season.
  • Geneseo evened the score just over a minute later, but the Bengals would regain the lead with a power-play tally by Sam Maddox (St. Louis, MO/Lindburgh) before the end of the first period.
  • Buffalo State pushed the lead to 3-1 with a goal by Remers, but Geneseo cut the deficit back to one just 17 second later.
  • The Knights added a goal in the final minute of the period to even the score at 3-3.
  • Remers scored his second of the game and fourth of the season just 1:33 into the third period to put Buffalo State back on top, but Geneseo tied it up with more than eight minutes remaining, capitalizing on a 5-on-3 power play.
  • Defenseman Cody Symonds (Woodbridge, ON/Emily Carr) picked up a pair of assists after missing last night’s game due to injury.
  • Connor Minch (Manchester, NH/Manchester Central) finished with 41 saves for the Bengals as Geneseo held a 45-25 edge in shots.

  • Carson Kelley, Will Campion, David Szmyd and Mitch Ferguson all scored for the Knights.
