UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The University at Buffalo volleyball team has four regular season matches left as they are still in contention for one of the four byes in the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament.  Three of those four matches will be at Alumni Arena, beginning this weekend with home contests against Kent State and Ohio.

Buffalo is currently in a three-way tie for fifth place in the league with a 6-6 record in conference play, just a game and a half behind Northern Illinois for the final bye.  The Bulls hold the tiebreaker over the Huskies.  Overall, UB is 14-10 on the year and is coming off a pair of five-set matches at the top two schools in the East.  UB dropped a tough five-set match to league-leader Miami last Friday and won on Saturday evening at Bowling Green.

The Bulls will first host Kent State on Friday night on ESPN3.  The Bulls beat the Golden Flashes 3-2 in the first meeting at Kent State.  Overall, the Golden Flashes are 12-14 and 5-7 in league play as they are hanging on to the final spot in the MAC Tournament right now.

UB will then face Ohio, a team the Bulls beat 3-2 in late September, their first ever win in Athens.  Ohio is currently tied with Buffalo at 6-6 in MAC play and the Bobcats are 11-14 overall.  That match will air on ESPN+.
The Bulls will close out the regular season next week with Senior Day against Akron on Thursday, Nov. 8 and then have their final match at Toledo on Saturday, Nov. 10.
All home matches for Buffalo are free for the general public.
