The Canisius women’s soccer team will close out the 2018 regular season at home on Wednesday when the team plays host to Siena. Game time is set for 4 p.m., and will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• Sophomore Shauna Lee scored in the 88th minute to pace Canisius in a 2-2 draw with Rider Saturday afternoon in Lawrenceville, N.J.
• Rider’s Sarah Gellert put the Broncs on the board first in the seventh minute. But Canisius sophomore Magdalen Canitia brought the Golden Griffins level in the 22nd minute off of a give-and-go throw in from freshman Hope Balling.
• The game would remain knotted at 1-1 until the 73rd minute, when Rider’s Emily Curteis drilled the ball into the left side of the net past Canisius junior goalkeeper Alana Rossi to put the Broncs up, 2-1.
• In the 88th minute, Lee took control of a loose ball in the box and beat Rider keeper Carmen Carbonell one-on-one to the right-side of the net.

ABOUT THE SAINTS
• Siena is 8-7-3 on the year and 5-2-2 in MAAC play. The Saints won their last MAAC contest over Manhattan, 1-0, in overtime at home on Oct. 20
• Ashleigh Sarafin and Meghan Riccardi lead the Saints with three goals and one assist each.
• Siena goalkeeper Taylor Dorado has recorded 93 saves this season, second-most in the conference.
• Siena has been out-shot by opponents, 228-268, on the season.
 
CANISIUS – SIENA SERIES HISTORY
• Wednesday’s match will be the 30th all-time meeting between the Griffs and the Saints.
• Siena leads the series, 18-10-1.
• Last season, Siena scored a 3-1 victory over Canisius at Siena Field in Loudonville, N.Y. 
•  The two schools have split the last two contests in the regular season.
• The Griffs were victorious in their first meeting with Siena during the 1990 season, defeating the Saints 4-3.
