BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Oswego dealt Buffalo State a straight-sets defeat this evening to open up the final SUNYAC weekend hosted by Brockport.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego got off to a quick start in the first set, winning seven of the first eight points, and continued the momentum to take a 21-13 lead late in the set. Buffalo State responded with a 4-0 run of its own late but it wasn’t enough as the Lakers claimed the first frame, 25-18.
- The Bengals survived an early 12-5 run by Oswego in the second set and used an 8-2 run to cut the lead to 14-13 fueled by a pair of kills and a pair of assists by Maria Gelyon (West Seneca/Immaculata).
- Buffalo State and Oswego would trade points for the remainder of the second frame until a final kill gave the Lakers a 25-22 set win.
- Oswego used a 13-3 run during the third set to complete the sweep, winning the final frame 25-20.
- Jordan McKenna (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) and Eimile O’Brien (Marietta/Marcellus) led the Bengals’ offense with six kills apiece, with McKenna chipping in a pair of block assists.
- Brooke Federko (Jamestown/Jamestown) added 10 assists.
FOR THE FOES
- Alison Sullivan finished with nine kills to lead the Lakers, and added five blocks.
- Alison Berger chipped in 23 assists and three service aces.

- Buffalo State will conclude the SUNYAC regular season with two more conference matches tomorrow against Potsdam at 12 p.m. and Oneonta at 2:30 p.m.
