Two teams riding three-match unbeaten streaks meet Saturday night when the Canisius men’s soccer team hosts Saint Peter’s in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference contest at the Demske Sports Complex.
 
Kickoff between the Golden Griffins and Peacocks is set for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on MAAC.tv.
 
The contest will serve as the program’s Senior Day match, with the team honoring its nine senior student-athletes in a ceremony prior to the start of the contest.
 
Last Time Out
• Junior Troy Brady scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season and senior Bryce Tramuta made five saves to pace Canisius in a 1-1 draw versus Marist Wednesday at the Demske Sports Complex.
• Brady put the Griffs in front in the 24th minute, but Beau Horberger headed home a corner kick with less than two minutes remaining in regulation to bring the Red Foxes level and send the game to overtime.
• Marist held a 17-8 edge in shots taken during the match, highlighted by a 5-1 advantage during the first overtime session.
• The Red Foxes also attempted 11 of the 16 corner kicks awarded during the match.
• The goal scored in the 89th minute by the Red Foxes was the first surrendered by Canisius in more than 300 minutes of game action (300:56).
 
Scouting Saint Peter’s
• Entering the weekend tied with Iona for fourth in the league standings, Saint Peter’s looks to extend an unbeatean streak that stands at three games following a 4-0 shutout of Monmouth on Wednesday.
• Dominic Laws paces a potent Peacocks attack that leads the league in goals per game (1.79) with team-highs of eight goals and 19 points.
• Jordan Jowers has provided a second viable scoring option as he has chipped in seven goals and one assist for 15 points.
• Jason Dubrovich has seen the majority of time in goal for the Peacocks this season, compiling a 1.17 goals against average and a .768 save percentage in 1,002 minutes of action.  
 
Canisius-Saint Peter’s Series Notes
• Saturday’s contest serves at the 29th all-time meeting between the two Jesuit schools.
• Canisius holds the lead in the all-time series with a 16-11-1 record against the Peacocks.
• Canisius has won each of their last four matchups against Saint Peter’s, including a 4-3 victory last October at Jaroschak Field that saw sophomore Filippo Tamburini score the decisive marker in the 81st minute in a back-and-forth affair.
