NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Niagara men’s soccer team (3-10-0, 1-4-0 MAAC) is back on the road after a two-game homestand on Monteagle Ridge. The Purple Eagles will be taking on Saint Peter’s as the push for playoff contention reaches fever pitch.

Niagara Notes
  • In their most recent outing, Niagara was defeated by Canisius, 4-0, on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
  • Luca Pacheco earned the team’s first individual award of the season. His six point (2 G, 2 A) week earned MAAC Player of the Week honors for the first time in his collegiate career. The sophomore scored the opening goal at Rider on Oct. 3, then scored once and assisted twice against the Hawks.
 
Across The Pitch: Saint Peter’s Peacocks (4-6-2, 1-2-1 MAAC)

  • Saint Peter’s is coming off a bye week following a 2-2 draw with Iona on Saturday, Oct. 6. Since the start of conference play, the Peacocks have also fallen to Marist and Quinnipiac while earning a surprise upset over Manhattan.
  • Frederik Lindqvist was named the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week on September 24. He led the Peacocks to a 4-1 blowout road win over St. Francis Brooklyn in Saint Peter’s only game of the week by scoring two goals and dishing out one assist.
  • In 29 all-time meetings, the Purple Eagles and Peacocks each hold a 12-12-5 record. The most recent outing ended in triumph for Niagara, as they earned a 2-0 win at home for their only conference victory in 2017. Pacheco tallied both goals and was named MAAC Rookie of the Week for his efforts.
