NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Earning a pair of wins at home last weekend, the Niagara women’s volleyball team looks to extend its win streak this weekend with matches at Saint Peter’s (Oct. 13) and Rider (Oct. 14).

Last Time Out
  • Niagara earned a pair of thrilling wins last weekend, helping to give the team a three-game home winning streak. Niagara earned a comeback win against Quinnipiac on Oct. 6 in five sets, and followed the performance up with a win in straight sets over reigning conference champions Fairfield on Oct. 7.
  • On the weekend, Caroline Leitch led the team in kills, averaging 4.00 kills per set. Emillie Wrightaveraged a team-best 3.25 digs per set.
  • Jessica Streuer led the Purple Eagles in assists with 97 total and 12.12 assist per set.
  • Mary Redl record 10 total blocks.

  • Streuer earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 9 after her impressive weekend against the Bobcats and the Stags. Streuer recorded a career-best 61 assists against Quinnipiac, before recording a double-double with 36 assists and 10 digs against Fairfield.
  • Niagara recorded 67 assists against Quinnipiac, the second-most a MAAC team has recorded in single match this season.
  • Leitch is eighth in the MAAC in kills with 174 total kills and an average of 2.90 kills per set.
  • Streuer ranks seven in the conference in assists, averaging 7.87 per set.
  • Wright is seventh in digs with 207 total (3.91 per set) and Jaycie Roberts is ninth in digs, averaging 3.40 digs per set.

Saint Peter’s Peacocks (5-17, 2-6 MAAC)
  • Alanis Alvarado leads Saint Peter’s in kills with 203 total (2.64 per set). She is 10th in the MAAC in kills.
  • Angelee Ng ranks eighth in the MAAC in assists, averaging 7.74 assists per set.
  • Karla Seda leads the team in digs with 4.08 digs per set. She is sixth in the conference in digs.
  • Niagara leads the all-time series with the Peacocks, 24-22, and has won the last nine matchups.
 
Rider Broncs (8-8, 4-4 MAAC).
  • The Broncs currently rank second in the MAAC in blocks per set (1.95) and service aces per set (1.49).
  • Anilee Sher has been the pacesetter for Rider this season, leading the team in service aces per set (0.46) and assists per set (9.34). Those figures rank second and third among the conference leaders in those categories, respectively.
  • Niagara leads the all-time series with Rider, 22-13. The Purple Eagles have won four of the last six matchups with the Broncs.
