BUFFALO, N.Y. — After picking up its first league win of the campaign, the Canisius men’s soccer team looks to build upon its momentum Saturday when it travels to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Monmouth.

Opening kickoff for the match between the Golden Griffins and Hawks is set for 7 p.m. at Hesse Field in West Long Branch, N.J.

Last Time Out
• Junior Troy Brady scored twice to pace Canisius to a 4-0 victory over rival Niagara Wednesday at Niagara Field in Lewiston, N.Y.
• Senior Melvin Blair and sophomore Manuele Cavazzoli also found the back of the net for the Golden Griffins, who matched their season high for goals with their outburst against the Purple Eagles.
• With the win, Canisius stretched its current undefeated streak against Niagara to five (3-0-2), dating back to the 2014 campaign.
• Brady increased his team lead in both points (11) and goals (5) with his two-goal effort on Wednesday. The performance was also his second multi-goal game of the season and the fourth of his career.
• Cavazzoli’s second-half goal was his first collegiate tally. Cavazzoli also finished with multiple points in a game for the first time in his career as he added an assist on Brady’s first goal.
• Senior Hunter Walsh tallied multiple assists in a game for the first time in his career as he finished with two helpers on Wednesday.
• Sophomore Tom Crosbie made his first career start in goal for Canisius and recorded one save to post his first career shutout.

Scouting Monmouth
• The Hawks enter Saturday’s matchup looking to halt a losing skid that reached five games Wednesday after suffering a 2-1 double overtime setback at home to Marist.
• Luke Bromley paces a Monmouth attack that has managed just eight goals in 12 games this season with two markers. Four players are tied for second on the team’s scoring chart with three points on a goal and an assist apiece.
• Sean Murray has played all 12 games in goal for the Hawks this season, posting a 1.69 goals against average and a .756 save percentage in 1119 minutes of action.

Canisius-Monmouth Series Notes
• Saturday’s contest serves as the sixth meeting between the two programs.
• Canisius holds a slim 3-2 edge in the series as they have won each of the past two matchups. Four of the five victories in the series have come by way of shutout.
• Canisius recorded a 3-0 victory over Monmouth last October at the Demske Sports Complex. Melvin Blair provided the game-winning goal just 58 seconds into the contest while junior Hunter Walsh and an own goal accounted for the other two tallies.
