CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Canisius men’s soccer team travels to Ohio Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest against Akron at FirstEnergy Stadium in Akron, Ohio.

The contest was added to the schedule this week after both teams lost games during the early portion of season because of inclement weather.

Last time Out
• Senior Bryce Tramuta recorded six saves to pace Canisius in a 0-0 draw versus Bucknell Sept. 7 at Emmitt Field in Lewisburg, Pa.
• In a back-and-forth contest, Tramuta made three of his six stops during the two overtime sessions to help propel the Golden Griffins to their first tie of the season.
• Canisius out-shot Bucknell by a 17-12 margin during regulation, but Bucknell keeper Ryan Ott kept the Griffs off the board, making key saves on sophomore Filippo Tamburini in an 1v1 situation in the 54th minute and a diving stop on an attempt from junior Will Pauls in the 87th minute.
• Overtime saw Canisius have a chance to win the game in the 98th minute when Tamburini got behind the Bucknell defense, but his shot slid just outside the right post.
• Bucknell had its best opportunity of the contest less than two minutes into the second overtime session, but Tramuta was able to get a piece of Tyler Peterson’s point-blank chance to keep it out of the goal.
• Canisius was scheduled to play at Saint Francis on Sept. 9, but the game was postponed because of heavy rainfall in the Loretto, Pa., region.
