BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo State controlled play from the opening whistle and used three second-half goals to pull away from visiting D’Youville for a 4-1 victory tonight at Coyer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Paige Bly (Kings Park/Kings Park) netted her first of the year just under eight minutes into the contest when she sprinted past a D’Youville defender to run down a long through ball from Emma Boccolucci(West Seneca/West Seneca East) before ripping a shot into the top of the net from the left wing.
  • Freshman Allie Reeds (E. Amherst/Williamsville South) tallied her first collegiate goal in the 75th minute with a blast from 20 yards inside of the left post.
  • Bly extended the lead less than two minutes later with her second of the game on a nifty move and a chip over the keeper from the left side of the box.
  • Freshman Alexis Hanson (New York/West Broward) notched her first career goal to complete the Bengals’ scoring in the 80th minute on a long sprint to catch a through ball from Reeds.
  • D’Youville broke through with just four seconds remaining, scoring on its first shot of the game, connecting of a loose ball after a corner kick.
  • Buffalo State finished with a 26-1 advantage in shots, including 14-1 on goal.

 
FOR THE FOES

  • Isabella Lucania scored the lone goal for the Spartans.
