CANISIUS OPENS FALL SEASON AT COLGATE
• The Canisius golf team officially opens the 2018-19 campaign Sept. 8-9, when the team travels to Hamilton, N.Y., to take part in the Alex Lagowitz Memorial.
• The Golden Griffins are starting their fall season at Colgate’s Seven Oaks Golf Club for the fourth time in the last five years.
• Canisius last started the season at Colgate’s tournament in 2016, where the Griffs placed 12th in the field with a three-round team score of 963. In that event, David Hanes tied for 15th in his first collegiate event.

A LOOK AT THIS YEAR’S GRIFFS
• Canisius head coach Todd Hummel returns seven golfers and has added one newcomer to the 2018-19 roster.
• The Griffs closed out the 2018 spring season by placing fifth at the 2018 MAAC Golf Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Junior David Hanes tied for eighth in the field and earned All-MAAC honors for the second-straight season.
• Matt Genaway, who is starting his sophomore campaign with the program, tied for 11th at the MAAC Championship event with his three-round score of 227.
• Senior John Dantonio enters his final year on the Griffs’ roster having played in 26 college events, the most for any player on the 2018-19 team.

 
NEXT ON THE TEE
• After three rounds in Hamilton, N.Y., Saturday and Sunday, Canisius will return to action Sept. 11, when the Griffs host the annual Little Three Championship at Crag Burn Golf Club in East Aurora, N.Y.
• The Little Three, one of the longest running college golf tournaments in the country, features Canisius and long-time local rivals Niagara and St. Bonaventure.
• The individual champion of the 36-hole Little Three Championship earns an automatic berth into the 2019 Porter Cup.
