EDISON, N.J. — The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has released the 2018-19 women’s basketball conference schedule. Each team will play an unbalanced 18-game schedule with nine home games and nine away game starting in January 2019.
The Purple Eagles open their league schedule at home, hosting Marist on Thursday, Jan. 3 and Manhattan on Saturday, Jan. 5. NU then hits the road to take on Saint Peter’s on Jan. 10 and Iona on Jan. 12.
Niagara welcomes defending MAAC champions Quinnipiac to the Gallagher Center on Friday, Jan. 18. The Purple Eagles then host Fairfield on Sunday, Jan. 20.
The Purple Eagles head back on the road to face Manhattan (Jan. 24) and Monmouth (Jan. 26), before returning home to host Saint Peter’s (Jan. 31) and Iona (Feb. 2).
Niagara takes a trip to Connecticut to take on Quinnipiac (Feb. 7) and Fairfield (Feb. 9). The Purple Eagles then host Canisius for the first installment of the annual Battle of the Bridge series on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
Niagara takes on the Siena Saints in Albany, N.Y. on Feb. 16 and hosts Monmouth (Feb. 22) and Rider (Feb. 24).
The Purple Eagles face the Canisius Golden Griffins in the Koessler Athletic Center on Feb. 27 before closing out the regular season at Marist on March 2.
The MAAC Championships will be held from March 7-11 at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y.
Niagara returns eight letterwinners from last year’s squad that went 13-18 overall and earned a No. 6 seed in the MAAC Tournament with a 9-9 conference record.
