A 58-year-old Rochester man was charged with DWI on August 24, 2018 following a call to police about an erratic driver.

According to New York State Troopers, officers responded to the Village of Corfu for a report of a blue van that may be operated by an intoxicated driver. Troopers observed the van fail to stop at a stop sign at Powers Rd. and Pratt Rd. in the town of Batavia and conducted a traffic stop. While speaking to the operator, Jay R. Howcraft, Troopers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Howcraft was placed under arrest after failing multiple SFSTs and transported to SP Batavia where he provided a breath sample of .09% BAC.
