UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The University at Buffalo volleyball team will take their 3-0 record on the road this weekend as they play three matches at the Cornell Invitational, beginning tomorrow evening.  The Bulls will face the host Big Red as well as St. John’s and Siena.
The Bulls are coming off victories over Niagara, Seton Hall, and North Dakota State last weekend, claiming the title at the Blue and White Classic.  Sophomore Andrea Mitrovic and junior Scout McLerran were both honored by the Mid-American Conference following the weekend.
Buffalo will open the weekend facing Cornell on Friday night at 7pm.  These will be the first matches of the season for the Big Red who finished last season with a 12-11 record and an 8-6 mark in the Ivy League. Cornell won the last meeting between the two teams back in 2016.
The Bulls will continue with a pair of matches on Saturday as they will face a Big East opponent and MAAC opponent for the second straight week. Buffalo will face St. John’s at 1pm on Saturday afternoon as both teams enter the weekend undefeated.  The Red Storm went 4-0 last weekend, including a five-set win over fellow MAC member, Eastern Michigan.
UB caps off the weekend by facing Siena at 5pm on Saturday evening.  The Saint lost all three of their matches during the season-opening Baltimore Bash, taking one set from Loyola (MD) and getting swept by Towson and Radford.
All matches at the Cornell Invitational will air on ESPN+ with links available at UBBulls.com. For those interested in attending the matches please note that parking on the Cornell campus is restricted on weekdays prior to 5 p.m. Visitors arriving on Friday before 5 p.m. will need to visit a Parking Information booth, as all lots around central campus require permits until that time. There are also several metered lots on campus that can be utilized.
