EDISON, N.J. — Freshman forward Annie Ibey has been named MAAC Women’s Soccer Rookie of the Week.
Ibey led the Purple Eagles in goals and points to help NU to victories over Cleveland State and Robert Morris. Ibey scored a brace, her first goals in her career, in Niagara’s 2-0 win over Cleveland State on August 23. She scored on her only two shots of the game in 47 minutes of action. Ibey registered her first career assist in Niagara’s overtime win against Robert Morris on August 26. She assisted on Niagara’s second goal of the game, to make it 2-0. She finished the week with two goals, one assist and five points.
The Purple Eagles (2-0-1) fly south to the Sunshine State to play Florida Gulf Coast on Friday at 7 p.m. and Florida Atlantic on Sunday at 1 p.m.
