Dear readers:

There’s no easy way to put this so I’m just going to come out and say it. We totally screwed up with the 2017 All WNY Awards. And by “we,” I guess I mainly mean “I.”

Without going into details that you don’t care about that will inevitably sound like excuses in the long run, let me simplify it as a metaphor: We bit off more than we could chew and by the time we started to digest it, the awards nominations were past their “best use by date.” As such, the All WNY Awards committee has decided that rather than trying to serve up the now-inedible 2017 awards, we’re just going to order a new dish from the kitchen — with some new rules for the chef.

In short, the 2017 Awards are dead. We’re not going to try to revive them. We *are*, however, going to start over with the new-and-improved (and greatly simplified) 2018 Awards. We have a plan. We have a schedule. And we’ll have an announcement shortly.

The All WNY Awards are very important to us — so important, we put our name on it. We’ve been honored to be able to celebrate those who make WNY a great place for music for the past eight years. And we’re looking forward to continuing that tradition very soon.

Please accept my most sincere apology for those of you who took the time out to make nominations for the 2017 Awards. I hope you’ll embrace the 2018 Awards as heartily as you have in the past.

The All WNY Awards celebrates the very best of Western New York. Started over a decade ago as the WNY Music Awards on WBNY, the All WNY Awards moved to All WNY Radio in 2013. Each year, we honor the best in the music industry, as well as businesses and community events.
